- Well first off earth is one of the 5 base element, But unlike most of the others earth is mostly used for defensive purposes.
In other cases it can be used to make objects heavier thus slowing it down but gi ing it a boost in raw power.
Then it can also be used too lighten an object too make it faster but it will also dramatically lose power..

- Then you can also do types of combination attacks that changes the earth.
Like adding water to a certain type of earth jutsu to make a mud style attack/defense.
Also can be added to fire to make lava or rubber..

Earth in naruto is one of the 5 basic elements and it allows the user to manipulate the earth around them.They are able to change the strength and compistion of the earth.Changing its form into weapons, almost anything for both attack and defense.

Earth is strong against water, as water can just be absorbed but weak against lightning as lightning it can easily travel through earth breaking it apart.

Earth is also 1 part of both wood release and lava release.

Some earth users-Onoki,Akatsuchi,Kakashi,Kakuzu
Some earth moves-Earth Spear, Aggravated rock technique,Dropping Lid,Rock clone
