Earth is one of the five basic elements.

Earth is one of the basic basic elemental chakras that a ninja can have an affinity to. Having affinity to earth means you can use earth based ninjutsu/elemental jutsu. It can also be used in combination with things like Fire, and water to creat KG's like Lava and Wood.

Explain your first answer a bit more.

Earth is the ground on which we stand on. It is made up of many things, and without it life would be impossible to sustain. You grow food with earth, and plants that grow out of earth are what keep the planet filled with Oxygen for us to breathe. It provides many things for us to sustain life: shelter, oxygen, and food.

Now sit down on this barren wasteland and begin to channel your chakra all around your body. Make it go out into the earth and return to you, constantly. Tell me what it feels like,what tells you and what's it doing to you.

 

[Heister]

*I begin to focus my chakra into the core of my body, sitting down crossed legged, I begin to send my chakra into my legs and into the earth below me. I try to focus on the earth, trying to feel it's chakra. By repeating constantly this give and take I begin to feel the roughness and toughness in the earths chakra begin to surround my body on the ground.*

Is it telling you anything?

It's telling me how strong earth actually can be, and how versatile it is when used in fights.

Now stop flowing your chakra into the ground, circulate your chakra inside your body. Tell me is your chakra feeling any different now?

*Flowing the chakra through my system I can feel life, and I feel hard as a rock*

Is there any weight difference?

 

[Heister]

*I can notice that with the earth chakra flowing through my chakra stream that I've actually become heavier.*

 

[Bhil]

(Whispers: What about your chakra? Does it have a weight difference? )

*My chakra feels denser, like it's mud flowing through it. But I can't really notice a distinct change in the weight of it*

Correct.
Now one last thing before we continue onto jutsu's.Start meditating and be one with the earth, again.

By using your chakra, make the ground below you soft, while thinking about something soft.
Then with your chakra make the ground below you hard, again.

*I stay in my meditative state and begin to focus my doton chakra into the palms of my hands. After focusing enough I put my hands on the ground next to me and begin to think of a pool of water, keeping my chakra consistent the rock around me begins to soften. Once I begin to feel it soften I think of plateau and begin to channel my doton chakra into my palms again and the rock around me hardens itself out.*
