Doton with Kiritsugu

*While molding Doton chakra I make the handseal Boar followed by the handseal Ox. Immediately after, I slam my hands onto the ground and channel my doton chakra into the earth underneath your clone. Then, I manipulate the earth in such a way that it appears to be like a whirlpool of earth. The spiraling earth should hopefully pull your clone down.I then throw a kunai at your clone causing it to disperse.*

Excellent. So I'll teach you a bit about zoning now, an important term.
Originally a term from a game that I play a lot, it basically means manipulating or forcing your opponent to go where you want to. For example, a jutsu from the sky like Lightning Fang would keep them from going into the air to use jutsus there, and a move such as Swamp of the Underland would prevent them from staying on the ground. Lastly, something that is very dangerous close range, such as Lightning Plasma Barrier would discourage them from getting near you to use Taijutsu or such.

How does this move apply to zoning?

By creating the quicksand like location, you force your opponent to move. If they are in an enclosed location or are hindered by going in certain directions, you can manipulate them into moving to a specific location, or get them into the air.

Perfect. And once they are in the air, how do you counter...to say, their counter?

I guess once they are in the air you could use the lightning release jutsu Kiba and there really isn't much they could do to avoid it (other that using a stronger jutsu to counter it). You could also make spikes rise out of the ground at the projected location that they will land to impale them. Is this what you were looking for?

Yes. They would also be prevented from using most earth jutsus once in the air.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to the area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

Proceed by charging Doton chakra into your hands. Then, slam the ground with it, sending it towards my clone, causing the earth to split in half underneath him.

*I begin molding my doton chakra and focus it into my hands. As I slam my hands onto the ground I channel the doton chakra into the ground and send it towards your clone. As soon as it reaches your clone, I release the chakra and mold the earth under your clone in such away that it splits into two halves (about 5 feet long with your clone standing about 2.5 feet from each end of the halves) right under your clone and the halves move away from one another and form a fissure about 5 feet wide and going about 5 feet under your clone (basically the initial location of your clone would be centered on a the top face of a cube of empty space with each edge being 5 feet long).*

Excellent. Amazing detail, especially with the diameters. So you can control the depth, the shape, the size...in what other ways could you use this?

I guess I could use it to create a ditch in between me and my opponent or force them into the air. I'm not really sure what you are looking for

Hm...well, any strategy. Such as creating a ditch, using it as a water source, or stopping electricity from reaching you since air isn't a good conductor...

(Doton: Doryūkatsu) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Divide

Description: The user will first perform the required hand seals Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake and then by flowing concentrated chakra from one's palms into the Dragon Veins flowing underground, one can tear the earth apart, creating large chasms by firstly raising the earth in the desired location and then splitting that peice of earth through the center. The length, width, direction, and curve of the chasm are all up to the user. Manipulating the Dragon Veins requires fine chakra control, but if one has such skill, they can use this technique to divide the space between the enemy and their own team in two, destroy enemy camps or defences, and even to attack.
Note: This does not split the earth apart directly to cause opponents to fall in the fissure.

Anyways, proceed to slam the ground with your fist, sending out your earth chakra to create small chunks of rubble and rock to start popping out of the earth, creating a lot of noise and potentially hinting at something ahead.

*I mold my doton chakra and concentrate it into my right hand. While focusing on my doton chakra, I form a tight fist with my right hand and slam it into the ground. As my right fist hits the ground I channel the concentrated into the ground and send it out in various directions. The doton chakra is released in such a way that it forces ruble out of the ground and makes a lot of noise.*

I guess this would be very useful when there is low visibility and the user is trying to confuse their opponent with lots of loud noises.

No worries. And I never thought about that...low visibility. Great point! Depending on where you aim these, you can make your opponent...turn their head. O_O

(Doton: Tsuchi Douyou no Hira) – Earth Release: Earth Shaking Palm

Description: After performing snake hand seal the user slams their hand on the ground. The result is that the ground becomes heavily turned up with chunks of rubble popping out of the ground. This technique is used as a means to distract opponents to either create an escape or follow through with a surprise attack.

Forming the snake hand sign, expel chunks of earth from your mouth, which then will connect itself around your arm, forming an earth fist. So...what's the purpose of this? O_O

*I begin molding my doton chakra. I channel the chakra into my mouth and form the snake hand seal. After making the hand seal, I have the doton solidify into earth as I expel it from my mouth, in chunks, towards my right arm. As the chunks of earth comes out, I mold the earth (using the chakra in it) around my lower arm, wrist, and hand in such a way that the earth is basically like a gauntlet of armor.*

This is useful for increasing the strength of my punches and for protecting my arm (for example, if my opponent defends himself with a low rank fire jutsu, which is too weak to melt the earth, I can easily punch the opponent without fear of being burned).

*I swing my right hand, which I previously coated with a layer of earth similarly to gauntlet, at your clone.*

The effects of these jutsus would add more weight to the layer of earth surrounding my hand. As a result my punches would be slower and requiring more effort for Earth Release: Added Weight Technique and even slower requiring even more effort for Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique. However, the heavier the heavier my Earth fist is the more momentum it will have and the more damage it will do on impact.

Description: After performing the snake → Seal of Confrontation and then by encasing their arm in rock, the user can deal a powerful hardened punch against an opponent while being protected from direct contact with their target. If necessary, the weight of the rock can be increased to further increase the punch's destructive power through the Earth Release: Added Weight Technique or the Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique

Perform the handsigns of Ram → Dog → Rat → Bird and then cause anywhere within short-range, a tunnel to be made. Basically compressing the earth in said area, outward, creating a tunnel. Which will allow you go undected (By the naked eye) to other locations. You could essentialy, create a tunnel and travel up mid-range behind your opponent.

*I mold doton chakra and preform the handseals Ram → Dog → Rat → Bird. Then, I channel my doton chakra into a point on the ground and 5 feet to my right. I manipulate the concentrated chakra in such a way that the earth 2 feet away from the point is pushed away, effectively making a hole with a diameter of 4 feet. I continue manipulating the doton chakra in a similiar manner so that the hole extends deeper, then curves around as a tunnel and eventually comes back up to the surface right behind your clone.*

As a shadow user, you can use the shadow of the enclosed part of the tunnel (wow, that sounds kinda weird) to add to your own shadow and as a result you will be able to extend the range of your attacks. This would be kinda like what Shikamaru did in the chunin exams while fighting Temari when he through the object into the air (I can't exactly remember what it was) and used the shadow of the falling object to increase the range of his attacks.

You could hide several elements, as long as they don't give off light, in the tunnel. For example, you could store water, wood, ice, Deidera's detonating clay, etc. in there. There are a lot of possibilities of elements that you could use for a surprise attack and hide from your opponent.
