"Alright then, we continue!" Nico Robin walks the student to an opened area, with a rocky terrain as always. She performs a single hand seal and continues to explain the technique. "Through this hand seal, the Ram hand seal, I want you to channel chakra in the ground within mid or long range and perform nature transformation to change the nature of your chakra into the properties of earth. Using the newly modified earth chakra, I want you to control the earth underneath your target and have it rise up as two sections of rock. They would move inward and proceed to crush the enemy, resulting in death in most cases." Nico Robin makes a hand seal and a clone runs in front of the student, about ten meters. "Perform the technique to my clone which should force her to disperse in a puff of smoke. Once you're done, tell me how you would use this in battle, and how you would defend from this technique. Start!"

"Moving on- a situation technique which I personally would not use." Nico Robin presents the student with two kunais as she playfully tosses it around her hands. "Channel chakra while performing nature transformation to change the nature of it into earth, thus creating earth chakra. With your earth chakra, transform the earth into fine sand which allows you to dig through it with ease. You would be continuously manipulating the earth and turning it into sand in order to actually move, therefore you are unable to perform other techniques. If you were to stop channeling earth chakra, the earth would concave and crush you immediately, which is why it is such a dangerous technique. You are able to sense what is happening to the surface and use the information to launch surprise attacks. Furthermore, the earth turns to its original state shortly after, leaving behind no trace of where you entered the earth, or left. Anyways, give me the disadvantages of this technique and how you would use it in battle, in terms of combinations and such." Nico Robin throws the two kunais towards the student, expecting him to dive to the ground in response.
Wendy, seeing her sensei perform the Ram handseal and then explain the technique, Wendy repeats what she does and performs the Ram handseal, now gathering raw chakra in her hands, changing the properties of the chakra, making it sturdier, harder, stronger, making the raw chakra turn brown, turn into doton chakra, she then uses her hands to touch the ground, sending the doton chakra throught the ground, sending the doton chakra right underneath the clone that her sensei created, she then manipulate the earth, making it rise into two separated sections of rock, the sections go into the direction of the clone, one from right and the other from left, making it crush the clone.
Sensei, I would use it in battle if my opponent was on the ground focused on another thing, as this technique appears right underneath the opponent, maybe surprising the opponent and possibly being lethal, to deal with this technique, I would use a raiton technique that goes throught the ground, breaking the technique, Nagashi for example, even thought Nagashi would be a waste of chakra to counter this technique only."
Wendy, seeing the kunais, gathers raw chakra in her feet, changing the properties of the raw chakra which was a blue steam, making the chakra turn hardier, stronger, endurable, the chakra turns into a brownish mud-like thing, then, manipulating the doton chakra, she inflicts it into the ground right bellow her, manipulating once again the properties of the doton chakra to make it manipulate the earth underneath her, changing the earth into a sand-like thing, which allows Wendy to fall down, dodging the kunais, after dodging the kunais, she goes up and then stops channeling the doton chakra, making it turn back into normal earth.
"The advantages are that it doesn't need any handseals, so it can be used very fast, it's a easy way to dodge large and huge attacks that doesn't spread throught the ground. This technique can be used if the opponent can't see or sense chakra, use it with a smoke bomb.
One question, if there is a huge water source on top of me, can I dismiss the technique or would I get killed by the pressure? And can I breath in it?"
"A correction: Chakra stays "blue" no matter what element the chakra is based off of. And Nagashi is an excellent counter, to channel it through the earth to prevent it from coming up in the first place because they can act as a hindrance is what I'd probably do. If you mean that theres a water source above you, then by dismissing the technique, you would be crushed. The bad thing about this is you absolutely have to maintain chakra concentration on the earth surrounding you; you need to keep doing so from when you enter till you exit which is a huge disadvantage. To stop while in between earth, or to perform other technique will cause the earth to crush you. And the pressure curshing you depends on how far beneath you are, and how deep and how much water there is. It is situational." Nico Robin proceeded on with the next technique. "Well, this one, i'm sure you'll understand with ease. You basically use the last jutsu we learned to pull the opponent underground, while at the same time, pulling yourself above ground. Pull them to the point where only their head is popping out, allowing you to interrogate or decapitate them. How would you use this in battle? Or rather, how would you complete this technique knowing you'd need to go underground? Would you place the enemy in a genjutsu to make it dark so they cannot see, or what?"
Wendy once again gathers raw chakra in her feet, manipulating the properties of the raw chakra, making the raw chakra get sturdier, harder, stronger, making it turn into doton chakra, then she uses the doton chakra, making it go inside the earth underneath her, then she makes the doton chakra manipulate the properties of the earth underneath her, making it turn into sand, allowing her to fall into it, then, as the clone comes near (assuming it's a clone), she pulls the clone in at the time as she leaves it, making only the clone's head out.

Rain tiger at will would work, however, because it works in such a way that it can only sense what the water droplets touch, then you probably cannot sense anyone underground. To counter attack, I suggest any earth techniques that altar the composition of the earth, because, well, if the enemy is underground, they are in deep trouble, which is also one of the major disadvantages of this technique."

Send it to your desired location, in this case, underneath the enemy, and with shape manipulation, shape out one, or several rock pillars to protrude from the ground in an attempt to skewer the target. The basic concept of it is quite simple; keep in mind the more you create, the less power each one has. Perform it to this training dummy and describe the location in which you are targeting, and explain why. Furthermore, imagine you are at a normal and grassy terrain. If the enemy were to use this to you, how would you defend accordingly? Lastly, what combinations could you make with this technique?"

"This next one is also useful, if used correctly. By channeling a vast amount of chakra through your feet and through the ground within mid range, you can create minor tremors in the terrain. This is done by performing nature transformation to change the nature of your chakra into the properties of earth, and afterwards, have it penetrate the earth within mid-range of you, and use the chakra to manipulate it in such a way that it would cause the earth to rattle and shake. It is capable of causing the enemy to lose their footing or miss techniques that require precision. Perform it, and explain how you would use this in battle, and how you would 'defend' against it?"
