Does Dothraki expansion makes sense to you? (Dothraki travelling to Mereen)

1) Culturally Dothraki people are very different than people of any other cities she has acquired, so I am not quite sure if Dothraki and other slaves/masters would mix well. I mean Dothraki take women on the street man, imagine if they are led to Mereen. (Many other cultural issues, not this one alone)

2) The army/general population ratio will be way to high for sustenance. Dothraki culture is like they go, they conquer, they eat, they rape etc. and they move on. With Danerys trying to rule Mereen and other cities and not making any immediate expansions, the Dothraki will only add to the burden. Quite a lot of resources will be taken to satisfy their needs.

IMHO she should install a proxy head, who reports to her and let Dothraki lead their lifestyle. Then when future expansion needed, she could use them, reward them.....
What do you guys think?

The Dothraki are normally ruled by Khals who are males. Now all of those Khals were set ablaze and the entire horde knelt for Dany, a woman of foreign origin. So their attachment to tradition has already taken quite a beating by their admiration for Dany and thus it's rather questionable to which degree they will maintain their original life. On top of that Dany is now both the Queen of Mereen as the leader of the biggest cavalry the word has ever known and all the Dothraki riding under one banner has never occurred before. And as they say you need to strike the iron when it's hot and Dany has no shortage of enemies and the time of expansion is now. My guess? Yunkai and Astapor are the unfortunate targets. The problem after all was that Dany couldn't keep the whole of Slaver's Bay under her command with her limited army. Now with several 100 000 Dothraki riders the situation is different and if she has command over Slaver's Bay, well then she can point her gaze towards Westeros. The issue after all was that the moment she leaves Mereen, she would most likely lose it.

Also these Dothraki follow her because of what she is capable of, they're really not going to accept something like a proxy.

You think this is gonna conflict with Tyrion's 7 years to end slavery compromise?

I think this "7 years compromise" was nothing more than lip service and a means to stall for time. If the regular people already were on edge because they knew the Great Masters had a conversation with Tyrion, how do you think the Sons of the Harpy will feel? They are completely reliant on their support and if it halts for even a short while, it means they can't take any action which in return gives Tyrion time to device a plan and/or just wait on dany. If Dany pops up with 100 000 Dothraki, well then there's no particular reason anymore for Tyrion to play diplomat. After all one of the main reasons to use diplomacy in GoT is when there's a stalemate, while now the scales are starting to tilt in favor of Dany.

All the characters, and the actors who play them, have been made public. As a result you can hypothesize how a character will influence the story. Well is the woman we can see in the trailer for the next episode and apparently she's a priestess of R'hllor from Volantis. In the books the faith of R'hllor is quite popular with the regular folk and the priests and priestess of Volantis proclaim publicly that she's Azor Ahai. The rulers of Volantis however do not fancy Dany because of her non-slavery policy and Volantis has a huge slave population, hence their support to the Great Masters. Now the fact that a red priestess has appeared in Mereen is meaningful. My guess is that after Dany has taken complete control over Slaver's Bay with her Dothraki, she will march on Volantis. Not only would she be approaching Westeros awfully close that way, she would essentially have started to control the same territories that once were part of the Valyrian Freehold.

Biggest issue: she's in Vaes Dothrak and that's really not close to Mereen. Even if Drogon pops up again, she can't travel too fast if she wants to keep close to her khalassar and the longer Dany's whereabouts are unknown, the weaker Tyrion's and the others' position in Mereen becomes. Hence Tyrion's stalling for time as the longer the Great Masters are kept in the dark, the better. Of course knowing him he likely thinks that his suggestion is rather reasonable and could be implemented. However I doubt he wants to wait 7 years before they finally can march on Westeros.

right on. I just kinda figured she'd be pissed he went behind her back and compromised on slavery in her absence. She seems pretty set on "absolutely no slavery". I could see her not understanding his intentions or simply not caring and banishing him.

Vaes Dothrak is not that far from Mereen... well maybe it will take quite sometime for her to reach the city since shes marching with a giant cavalry but it wont take long for her to reach the city

I did check the map beforehand and it's really not close. Currently she's closer to the northern part of Essos rather than the southern part and the distance between Mereen and Vaes Dothrak in a straight line is the same as the distance between King's Landing and Moat Cailin.

And the larger the army, the slower they will move. Not to mention if all Dothraki go with her, well not all of them ride horses. The only way Dany can get really fast in Mereen, is if she finds Drogon and he flies her all the way. Of course that would mean she would have to separate from her kalassar.
