Don't you think Shiki fujin is rather...'weak' for a suicidal attack?

I know that at first when Kishi designed the jutsu it was probably one of the most haxed jutsus, but now that we see it...

MS allows full control of the beast while mokuton can suppress it. Sealing is definitely a strength of shiki fujin but then there's also a seal that seals a complete kyuubi inside a jin (mito, kushina)

Human path realm steals victims' soul just as shiki fujin, without killing the caster. They can both be resisted (oro vs hiruzen, naruto vs nagato), yet human path can be used multiple times and also allows the user to interrogate the victim

Lastly...another 'suicidal' jutsu, 8th-gate, did much greater accomplishment: practically destroyed the Jinchuuriki of 10tails who possess all powers or rinnegan, EMS and mokuton.


Shiki fujin is probably the one of the most strongest seals from uzumaki clan that excels in seals, yet all they can come up with is...something that's basically a bad version of human path realm? Hell, chiyo, just some random elite jounin could come up with a jutsu that is practically the same thing as rinnegans' most powerful jutsu, rinne tensei...both requiring the caster their death.

I think kishi should have given some kind of a unique trait for shiki fujin...something like being the only jutsu that allows the perfect separation of yin/yang chakra of the kyuubi, and this being a requirement for someone to become a perfect jin of kyuubi.

Gai's 8th gate was great but Madara never gave a feeling that he was in danger of dying from it or even being permanently injured.


The only one that you mentioned that might have a reasonable basis the Uzumaki seal Kyuubi inside themselves jutsu and again that is an Uzumaki jutsu.


Also I don't see the point you are making:


Rinnegan (Human path) jutsu > Uzumaki jutsu.


So basically the Eyes of the SAGE should not be more powerful then a clan's jutsu?

I mean it's a mask right outside KONOHA that let's you summon the shinigami.... Makes shiki fujin less unique..

It's not weak to me. I don't usually conclude that Tech A is weak because it's lower than Tech B. It is a flawed reasoning. Human Path can only steal souls, not split chakra as far as I know.

Yeah but the mask also kills you to get out the souls unless you're Orochimaru.
