Without Manda, his body would be torn apart. Manda later died from it, just a bit of the shockwave. + He had to escape IN the blast. Without Manda, his hands would be no more. So it was kind of an asspull.

But that's not the point of the question.
How was he trolled if he killed himself?
The fight was fair and he lost, then resulted to extreme tactics that we all knew would result in his death.

So how was his death trolled if Manda did not contribute to it?

Yes, Kakuzu was trolled horribly. Kishimoto has admitted that he was forced to rush the Immortals arc.

I forget all the points of how he was trolled, but these two come to the top of my mind:

1. Kakuzu forgot that Shadow Clones can use jutsus.
2. Kakuzu didn't hear the Rasenshuriken's loud screeching coming up from behind him.

Of course also Kakuzu lost two of his hearts, one with Earth Spear which may had allowed him to withstand Rasenshuriken. Not to mention that it was ultimately 5 vs. 1.
