Don't compare Shikamaru to Itachi in Genius

Instead lets say:

Itachi is the genius of observation and action.

Shikamaru is a genius of tactical operations.(He led the Shinobi Alliance in tactic, Tobi also considered him a "opponent of regret.")

Orochimaru is a genius of life and reincarnation

Hiruzen is a genius of ninjutsu.

So its very unwise to compare people of different sports.

I'm sure that shikamaru is also just as good as Itachi in the observations and analysis department. He might not have sharingan, but his own intellectual capacity makes up for that.

Incorrect, intelligence appears in different forms.

Much like how Art appears in different forms: Music, Painting, Drawing, Digital Drawing.

If you are making that statement you are saying that Shikamaru or Itachi should know everything in the world, including knowing how to play piano.

It can be singled out to a certain aspect , like ninjutsu genius etc, but that's not the case with Itachi and Hiruzen.. .You're wrong there ...

If that was the case, they would have stated that... EG- Tsunade is known as a medical genius.....it has been stated in the manga..

Sasori was known as a Puppet genius and medical genius...stated in the manga...


When Itachi and Hiruzen etc got the title genius, It's because they had abnormal talent when it comes to ninja combat as well as incredible intelligence...

Intelligence is a broad word that has many sub categories... According to wiki

abstract thought, understanding, self-awareness, communication, reasoning, learning, having emotional knowledge, retaining, planning, and problem solving encompass the word "Intelligence"

Shikimaru is a strategic genius.... he is great at planning, problem solving....... Itachi is also great at planning and problem solving but is skilled in all the other categories as well.... , maybe not on the same level as shikimaru..(i believe he is)

Kakashi was also called a "genius" , And he stated he was as smart as shikimaru....You can very well compare Itachi's and Kakashi's genius to shikimaru's .... since shikimaru's genius falls under their genius.. which is being strategical...

However, If the manga said Sasori was a puppet genius.. something like that cannot be compared.... You may be able to compare certain aspects of his intelligence.. aka knowledge of certain things in the world and his i.q ....but if he's a genius at a particular field .. then no

there both the same thing when it comes to intellect. shikamaru is good in terms of setting traps etc. and succeeding in what the outcome will be. Itachi prodicts what your future outcome is and exploits it. ALL THE SAME THING. Because the end results always end the same.....them defeating impossible enemies.
