Dokkōdō
Dokkōdō, or The Alone Way, is a Mode based around the usage of Senjutsu alongside Kenjutsu, blending Natural Energy into strikes capable of causing petrification to targets. Similar to Sage Mode users, Dokkōdō learners train rigorously to learn how to gather and use natural energy with their swords and Kenjutsu but unlike Sage Mode, this ability is only able to be used alongside Kenjutsu. Due to this, users advance their skills in such a way that they become capable of using it just as well as Sage Mode Masters. A unique ability exclusive to Dokkōdō is the ability to apply this petrification effect to jutsu as well as opponents, deteriorating the chakra present in either
Abilities:
  • When direct contact is made while in Dokkōdō, sword strikes can cause petrification to targets, gradually slowing the flow of their chakra and prevent access to non-Elemental Ninjutsu of equal or lower chakra.
  • When interacting with elemental techniques, Dokkodo techniques cause a deterioration of the chakra and reduce speed and potency of techniques.
  • Unlike Sage Mode, Dokkōdō doesn't grant access to a separate pool of chakra, instead augmenting the user's Kenjutsu for a period of time.
  • Samurai and Ronin are capable of using some of these techniques without access to this Mode, gaining them passively. However, they cannot utilize Blinding Lights, Fang Point, or the Dokkodo State unless it is their Mode.

Restrictions:
  • Requires at least Genin Rank and 6000 Kumi
  • Counts as a Mode

Dokkōdō Mastery

Dokkōdō Mastery Rules:
  • Dokkōdō Masteries are basic enhancements that are applied to Dokkōdō usage, divided between Energy Mastery, and Mode Mastery.
  • The user will choose a single Mastery for their Dokkōdō, earning its specialization through Ninja World missions or battles. They may switch their Mastery in a bio update but this will reset their progress.
  • Submit Mastery Submissions here.

Energy Mastery:
Energy Masters are specialists in gathering, converting, and employing Senjutsu in battle.

Natural Master (Passive):
The user gains the ability to passively sense chakra and natural energy outside of Dokkodo Mode, tracking at the same level as within the mode.

Wrath of Nature (N/A): The user's Iaido technique significantly increases and causes targets struck to have their speeds decreased via Senjutsu, slowing them by 2-4 base speed levels, depending on the rank used. This effect lasts 3 turns and cannot stack with itself.

Destruction of Balance ( S-Rank, passive): When more than half of a target's chakra or health has been petrified, the overload of Senjutsu causes them to explode and spread Senjutsu on to others within short range, spreading the build up to the next target. Should their health/chakra reach a similar fate, then they will explode as well and continue this chain effect. This explosion causes 40 damage and causes secondary targets to gain a reduction of 15% chakra and max health.

Exposure (S-Rank, active/passive): The user's Hidden Blades techniques gains Elemental Superiorty to the Base 5 elements and Neutrality to Advanced Elements and non Yin-Yang based CE. These crescents can now be guided once per turn to redirect towards a target should they miss at the cost of a move per turn and can be done in the same timeframe of another attack.

Mode Mastery:
Mode Masters are more attuned to the physical changes to the body, enhancing Dokkodo Mode itself.

Natural Master (Passive):
The user becomes capable of activating Dokkodo passively.

Apex Predator (N/A): When in the state, the user's shroud augments it's chakra suppression effects, reducing chakra by 10% per turn a target is within mid range. Should they exit this radius, they will regain access after 1 turn.

Synergistic Harmony (Passive):The user can activate Dokkodo alongside Unfettered Mind or Bushido, though this reduces the duration for both modes to 3 turns. If activated after the first 3 turns have been used, the dual activation will only last that turn. This can only be done once per event.

Honed Instincts (S-Rank, passive): Should the user use any technique that imbues natural energy into targets to reduce their durability, the user will gain Bonus Health equal to the reduced durability for the same duration of the reduced duration. This increases the user's health pool but does not restore lost health.
