Now as always I'm browsing to the worldstarhiphop website as I always do. I came accross a video which I first didn't want to watch, but being a dog lover I wanted to see what really had hapenned to analyze the situation and see if the way the people acted was the correct way to act for that specific situation. As you might have read in the title this video is of a dog(Rottweiler) "attacking" a child. There is no blood or injury that I can tell in the video but it is a very graphic/traumatizing experience for the child. Now in my opinion the people really freak out way to much, and that only intensified the dog's actions and the child's experience. Giving that this was probably the very first time this had happened(obviously) it was probably the best way they figured they could help. Which is fine since this was very unexpected. Now I should direct my attention to who I think was the person that was mostly responsible for this, the dog owner. To me he did not have him under control, and was not the dog's pack leader. The dog showed no respect just by doing what he did. The way I have come up with this is because I'm an avid watcher of The Dog Whisperer. Cesar Millan is such an amazing person and a dog expert. He had a pack of 12 Rottweilers and now I believe that he owns about 37-40 dogs all of different breeds including pitbull, German shepherd, etc... Now we get to the reason I made this thread. What would you have done if that was your child? Since the child was not harmed will you still press some sort of charges? If you watched the video to the end, you see the dog owner and dog walking away basically fleeing the scene. Would you follow and have the owner arrested and have the dog either taken away from him or put to sleep? Do you consider this dog a danger to society? What I like to say and I learned from Cesar is that it's the human not the BREED... This applies to pitbulls which are the ones that are mostly framed for the attacks.

HERE'S SOME PICS OF CESAR MILLAN AND HIS PACK

*In reality most dog attacks come from little lap dogs which are treated like dolls and what not. Since they are so cute their attacks aren't taking so seriously. But when a large breed bites and they see what happens they immediately want to put them down. JUST SAYING U_U

This cuts really close to home. Three years ago, on the last day of sophmore year after I took my final exams, I went on a run and was attacked by three rottweilers. Luckily, I only had flesh wounds and just had to get stitches. But there was a day care and elementary school right down the street. I was lucky some people saved me, but if a few kids had been walking past where I was before the dogs were found, they wouldn't have had a chance. So much thanks and rep for this thread; be responsible pet owners y'all.

Well, the breed is unstable at best. In one case a small child was brutally mauled (not sure if he survived) by a rottweiler. The father shot the dog several times just to get it off his son, but even after it was near death, the dog wouldn't let go. The dog in this video needs to be put down because next time there might not be anyone around and someone could be killed. The entire breed needs to be eliminated along with some others known for similar behavior. The only dog breed worth keeping for loyalty, intelligence, strength and desire to protect not harm would be the German Shepard. As far as I'm concerned, you can do away with the rest. xd

That particular dog would probably be put down. Rottweilers tend to get really aggressive after they attack once, and then it becomes more frequent. If you train them well and feed them normally, rottweilers are some of the most loyal dogs, but they hate strangers. They see strangers as a threat to their owners. They're actually great guard dogs, and if I ever get a dog, I'd want a rottweiler.

Your entitled to your opinion and I respect that. But like I said and so has Cesar(the person I wrote about in the thread) "it's the human not the breed" he had 12 Rottweilers in a pack and he was the leader of it. Nothing ever happened as long as you address the problem early. So you have to be a calm and assertive dog owner. It's just like parenting you take care of your child educate him/her and there won't be too many problems. But if you let them do as they wish, well your in for a hell of a time.
