[Theory] Does Yata provide momentary invincibility?

Temporary Invincibility is not that uncommon among MS abilities.

Obito is temorarily invincible with Kamui intangibility. Danzo is temporarily invincible with Izanagi.

Is it really that counter intuitive that Yata might make the user temporarily invincible? It is around a MS level weapon, whatever that means.


Although, it makes sense that their would be a huge cost for such a powerful move.


I suspect that Itachi ultimately died from using it. Sure he was diseased. But it was the Yata that most likely finished him off in the end.

I agree with your post for once. There must be a price and a drawback to the technique. Either that or Kishimoto really sucks consistency wise.

nothing is invincible...everything has a weakness....yata can be kamuid,obito`s intangibility can be exploited if a clone is in kamui dimension and izanagi can be countered with izanami

but those counters are rare so you could say it grants some sort of invincibility when fighting someone who doesnt have the counter for these things

Izanagi isn't an MS technique.

Yata isn't as temporary as izanagi or kamui so to speak. Itachi just can't maintain his susanoo long enough, someone with larger chakra reserves can keep yata up for much longer.

Among the MS techniques only kamui makes the user temporarily invincible none of the others do. Izanagi costs the user an eye it isn't something commonly used either

Theoretically. And btw a sick Itachi outlasted Sasuke during their fight. And Edo Itachi didn't seem to have too many chakra problems. And Edos aren't at full strength. If we had alive Itachi during the war, I doubt anyone could have said that Itachi couldn't maintain his Susanoo for too long. It's all about power scaling at a certain point in time. Kakashi is a great example.
