Basically spiritual universe that is somehow ordered by a higher power, by invisible feelings of good and bad, a 'cosmic order' reminiscent of the early Greeks that underpins and motivates our actions. Or a 'moral force' that means our actions must have definite effects which we carry with us.

Those who reject this idea tend to believe that the universe is just physical, has no spiritual component at all, that events are random and have no deeper meaning or purpose, and that there can be no consequences of any kind to our actions and thus that we live in an amoral or nihilistic universe.

It is in Dostoyevsky's oft-quoted saying, "if God does not exist, then everything is permitted," that the notion of an amoral universe, and its implications, are explored. Similarly, some atheists, pagans and most Buddhists believe that we live in a moral universe (see Buddhist morality), but without the God aspect. The concept of a moral universe also implies that the good and bad events in our lives happen to us for a reason that life is good, and has a purpose, that human beings are basically good, that nature is good.

So... Which of these two do you believe are true?

I think it's important to be a good person, but I don't think nature cares.

I wonder if religion has led to some kind of moral revolution, you obviously don't need to be religious to be a good person, today it can be the opposite even, but before religion had some moral authority it seems and without it hell broke loose it seems.

It is a scary thought to think that people are not really good but only pretending cus that's the social contract. I mean that like perhaps people are only good cus they are supposed to be and they don't really care about it.

Just because everything is permitted does not make it right or wrong.

Way I see it is morality is rooted from consciousness, conscious minds decide what's right or wrong

If the question is there objective morality then only a universal deity or mind could say somethings objectively right or wrong

So for their to be objective morality there has to be a GOD a free controlling agency of reality

And as humans it's not like we are amoral if we say the universe doesn't care then we shouldnt either but we don't we care about injustice lies harm etc...

Bud, that's just imagined.Sort of biased, as well. And I mean that in polite manner.

No bud, that's just your biased leaning towards the idea, and you trying to beat your denouncers to the punch, by jumping to conclusions about them. Just because I disagree with your ideal, doesn't mean I don't believe that there's somewhere to go after we leave this dreadful place of a world. But, it's not tangible...no one can see it with the naked eye, and it probably isn't for US to know, cause we'd devalue the human life, and try to commit suicide...Lots of people who are disloyal to themselves.

Biased and fear-based. That ultimatum "If they don't believe in this, then they must be..." it's manipulative and selfish, and it shows that the person who believes in the concept of god is simply protecting him/herself with fallacies as counter-measures to others who disagree with their views, and people like that often use ultimatums to persuade or force people to believe in what they believe.Heavily deceptive and manipulative.

Your belief, in the way it's presented, looks like a manipulative tool...or some kind of propaganda to not only protect yourself, but to convince others.

You can believe in what you want, if it isn't endangering others...

And to answer your question, the world is what you make of it...you have the choice to have an actual perception, or a fantasy "wish-I-could" type of perception of reality.

"Oh I wish,I wish, I wish, I hope I can..."...fantasy driven.
