Eye sight is cause by the types of receptors in the eyes.

Cones: detect color better
Rods: detect light better

If the Sharingan truly is better at seeing in the dark then it would be worst at detecting colors. Much like dogs, they are great at seeing at night but they are more or less color blind. On top of which they trade good eye sight for eyes that detect motion.

In fact a dogs ability to detect motion is so good and their eye sight so bad that it is sad that if they recognize you from a distance it is more likely that they recognized your posture and the way you walk as oppose to actually seeing you.

Lol at the logic, this right here proves how base members are so whacked that when somebody says something even if they are metaphors, sarcasm, or play on words that they are stating a dead serious fact. I doubt they can see in the dark; maybe they can sense or see people's chakra like the byakugan can but that's just about it. Sharingan is the copy eye; the eye that reflects feeling and not a cat's eye. Maybe a jutsu would allow the user to do so though.

That would be a major troll if the user can see chakra and attacks ahead of time, but cant see in the dark.

So... What is the point of the Byakugan? Kakashi says the MIST is too thick.

The Byakugan can see through objects. The Sharingan cannot.

Byakugan allows you to use Gentle fist by USING the ablity to see through objects. Byakugan is based on Taijutsu.

The Sharingan allows you to copy movements by reading muscle tensions and allowing to see the next move. Sharingan is based on Genjutsu which is why the Uchiha were so renowned for it (yes I am aware that progressing the Sharingan allows for advanced ninjutsu but in basics, Izanami, Izanagi, Kotoamatsukami, Sharingan Genjutsu and Tsukuyomi are ALL Genjutsu).

Then the Rinnegan are the eyes that give birth to NINJUTSU.

The only thing that they really share is the ability to see chakra. The Sharingan and Rinnegan cannot see through objects or zoom in like the Byakugan.

As the title asks, does the sharingan give the user night vision? I assume yes because Sasuke comments that his eyes see clearly in the dark and the sharingan also glow in the dark. Also, side note, is the Sharingans hypnosis easily broken?

I highly doubt it, and Sasuke was talking about darkness as in evil path. Sasuke and Gaara were talking about Darkness
