Nagato controlled kakashi via chakra rod to make him miss.

I think that they do have the capabilities, reason that the Rinnegan is an evolved Sharingan and you would expect it to keep the initial techniques, and add whatever the new eye brings. Take Sasuke for instance, he still has Amaterasu on his Rinnegan, so, I say they can.

Rinnegan allows the user to summon this devil thing, which ripps out te tounges of the enemy.
The chakra rods and the rinnegan, belonged to madara, so i think kakashi had felt madaras chakra when pain stabed him.

Rinnegan and Sharingan are different.

One doesn't evolve from the other and they each have diffferent abilities.
This is shown by Sasuke's eye being a fusion of the two instead of just having a rinnegan or Sharingan.

If one evovled from the other than the user could just have one with all the abilities of the other but as we can see its different.

Sharinnegan counters sharinnegan. Regular rinnegan wouldnt work as everyone gets a rinnegan reflection on their eyes and only someone with the added bonus of the shari part is able to break it. This is another point which shows that sharigan and rinnegan are different.

It just wasn't his style. Take for instance Shishui and Itachi, with these two it's genjutsu first and ninjutsu/taijutsu afterwards. But with Sasuke and Madara it's ninjutsu/taijutsu first and genjutsu as a last resort. It really just depends on the fighter's prefered mode of battle and affinity I guess (Sasuke's eyes have better ninjutsu, ie Susano'o arrow, Amateresu and Blaze Release, but Itachi's eye have better genjutsu, ie. Tsukiyomi). In this case I'd say Nagato has better affinity for ninjutsu than he does genjutsu. By the way he did use a genjutsu, every Ame shinobi had a compicated genjutsu protective barrier over their minds to protect information about the God and his Angel, that genjutsu barrier was placed by Nagato. It's also why Inoichi took so long to get info out of that captured Ame shinobi.

A Rinnegan user has the ability to master all five basic elements and yin-yang release, Yin element [Which can be mastered due to Rinnegan] allows the user to use the so called Genjutsu techniques

Agreed with the point Sharingan & Rinnegan are different from each other. Although Sasuke possesses a Rinnegan [Which also retains the powers of sharingan – it also allows him to use abilities without swapping between Doujutsu] and its abilities allows him to nullify the effects
