Does the pride of the Uchiha clan matter more than Itachi's suffering?

It was a request by Shisui, when he handed over his eye to Itachi, to keep their clan's pride intact in the leaf village one way or another.

The other reason, was so Sasuke could keep believing in the nobility of his clan, and that it had been tainted and betrayed by it's own prodigious son, but that cat's out of the bag.

The Uchiha Clan was a clan of great pride and respect, which had been earned through many decades of bloodshed in battle, they climbed to the top of the ninja world with Madara as their leader.

Therefore, it is understandable, that they would be greatly offended by their treatment in Konoha, following the Kyuubi incident. To them it was an act of betrayal, their reputation tarnished, and tossed off to the side with limited relevance, it was the ultimate form of disrespect for such a great and noble clan, who had sided with the Senju to keep the peace.

Does that make their own, more severe act of betrayal justifiable? I think not.

Itachi took on the burden of being a traitor, mass murderer, world wide wanted criminal and killer of his own flesh and blood!

Accepting the hatred of his beloved Konohagakure and his younger brother, living a drug prolonged life for years in painful anguish and terrible disease, waiting for Sasuke, to one day end his misery.

Does he deserve that dishonour for the fake pride of a foolish clan? Does his story not deserve to be told?

Well if his story is told....that would make Konoha the most selfish Village around the Nation, but that would also make Sasuke into a hero and that's what Itachi wanted......i don't think Sasuke cares about what the Ninja World or being a hero:p

Well u got one thing wrong.... as far as we have information Uchiha Discrimination began after the Kurama Attack.

OT: Whether he deserved it or not Itachi wanted to protect his clan's Reputation..... cos despite being a hateful bunch, the clan also gave birth to people like Shisui and Itachi ..... Itachi wanted to give rise to new Uchiha Clan free of hate with Sasuke at its hate.

What sort of twisted logic is that? Their revenge for mistreatment would have equaled war and innocent people's death's, why is Konoha selfish for avoiding that?

^The fact the Hokage and the elders blamed one's man actions makes the whole Village selfish......Tobirama took an action against the Uchiha because he thought more Uchihas would become like Madara, but when in fact the Uchihas betrayed Madara for Hashirama and the Village and called him a hungry power.....just because of Tobirama and Elders actions the people are going blame on Konoha like the elders and Tobirama blamed on the Uchihas for one man actions.

You do realise that story is being told by Obito to instill hatred in Sasuke for Konoha in any possible way, hence all facts are twisted around one way or another. He also said Kyuubi was just a natural disaster, do you know what actually happened? Obito.
