By that I mean he took away the Senju DNA requirement, thus allowing all Uchiha to use it. It fits better with the story and adds depth to their history. Perhaps its required to master it, but not simply use it.

Since the Rinnegan granted Nagato the vast majority of his jutsu, his edo form would obviously re-create it because it was then a requirement. We saw Madara's edo Rinnegan vanish when he was revived fully, so its not as if those edo eyes were actually real.

Only explanation is that the 8th gate has a much steeper rise in power when compared to the other gates. Since it kills you, it makes sense its much more powerfull in terms of power progression.

Obito breaks all rules of logic. Senju DNA is probably the best reason he didn't go blind.

It brings you back to life using your DNA, a living sacrifice, and the right hand seals; of course you can use your own jutsus but the Rinnegan isn't Nagato's DNA so it shouldn't come back with him. At least Madara's eyes which came from Izuna is the combination of both eyes and even if Madara got his old eyes back, he already awakened the chakra to use EMS and Rinnegan.

Even with a higher powerup, it wouldn't put Gai anywhere close to JJ Madara, his power logically would be below EMS Madara as I point out in other threads.

Nagato had Madara's eyes when he died, the eyes were connected to his nervous system. Edo brings you back as you were when you died and grants you all jutsu you had available at that time. If this doesn't convince you, nothing will.

JJ Madara was letting Gai hurt him. He could have pushed him away with Shinra Tensei if he really wanted. it doesn't matter if you THINK Gai shouldn't stand a chance, because the manga tells you he did. The powerup was simply large enough to let him compete.

Izanami and Izanagi strike you blind instantly, no matter how much senju DNA you have. Since MS causes a slow decent into darkness, that can theoretically be slowed by the added DNA. Not to mention, Obito never used Susanoo, so his rate of decent into darkness was slower for that reason as well.

The possible plot hole I brought up in my first post about Oro's use of edo tensei is more significant than these, as there is no explanation for it.

He was mature enough to improve his taijutsu, learn to cancel genjutsu, improved his summoning skills, improve his chakra control, learn "that jutsu", improve his combat strategy making skills, improved his weapon usage, and learn Oodama Rasengan but not learn to gather Intel with shadow clones? Come on now that's a plot hole.

Retcon or not, it's a plothole that does not match what Kishi had previously wrote. Toriyama does this in DBZ all the time, it's still called plotholes for DBZ as well.

This is a plot since nothing was stated or implied of the Rinnegan being given to the Edo's and plus Kabuto wouldn't know how to even do that since you need Indra and Ashura's chakra to create the Rinnegan.

I thought about that as well, but it was never stated that Haguromo sealed the Juubi in a moon during their first battle. In fact, he stated that he sealed it inside of him and that he remained the Jinchuriki till he was convinced by Ashura. Besides, let's not forget that there was no such a thing as a GM when Haguromo first sealed the Juubi since the Juubi wasn't divided into tailed beasts back then.

Quite observant and you seem to be right, but clearly such a scenario where the Zetsu are expelled from Kabuto when he entered sage mode would have been a wasted plot point. By that I mean going through the effort of trying to explain that while setting up a battle as important as Kabuto vs. Sasuke and Itachi would not have been worth it.

Not to mention, keep in mind Kabuto was double crossing a double crosser. Tobi thought Zetsu could keep the presence of the spores unknown to Kabuto, but clearly Kabuto knew about them. If he knew, and didn't wish to be burdened by them later, all he has to do is negate the effectiveness of the spore manually. If they have no chakra to begin with, Zetsu might not have knowledge of the spores being deactivated until he manually tried to activate them himself.

In short? Kabuto deactivated the hibernating spores and rendered them useless. Knowing the spores contained no traceable chakra, its logical to assume that once Zetsu plants them on a target, he has no perception of whether or not they will properly activate until he tries.



Technically? There aren't any true 'plot holes' after the manga ended, but there was some serious levels of inconsistency that went on over time. Most of this can be chalked up to Kishi retconning things over the years and simply perfecting details and plot points. That doesn't, however, mean he negated all inconsistency, rather that is what created a great deal of it.

Take edo Tensei for example. Kabuto distinctly explained it here:

This directly shows the prep time needed for Edo Tensei. It means that the target isn't simply summoned straight into battle, the caster has to manually prepare the edo beforehand. Clearly that was not the case with Oro's variation of the jutsu:

Oro clearly just straight up summoned them with no prep time. The third summon failed because MInato was in the belly of the Shinigami, but if prep time was required than Oro would have discovered this flaw in the jutsu during his prep time, rather than on the field of battle. Kishi even attempts to retcon it here, but fails miserably because as I said before, Oro was skipping the prep time stage entirely:

In this case, its entirely possible to interpret the 'prep time' stage to be a retcon that Kishi developed, so its not entirely a plot hole but a serious inconsistency for sure.

There are a great deal of examples out there but this is, by far, one of the most glaring.

If you believe that Oro's variation still required the DNA of the summoned, than you must believe the prep time was required too.

The retcon was Kakashi getting it as a child, and that is not the definition of a plothole. A plothole is a fact that is in direct violation to rules or circumstances already established beforehand. Kakashi getting MS as a child and not realizing it is not a plothole because it can be explained by him passing out right after awakening it. On the contrary, Oro failing to summon Minato because the soul was in the demon belly is in complete contrast to the variation of IWR established by Kabuto because Oro should have certainly discovered the failure during his prep time. That is much more close to a plothole.

Sasori's puppet body is not his physiological body, which is what the jutsu returns to the shinobi. Sasori's real body 'died' the instant he turned himself into a puppet, so that is how he was brought back.

I'm not going to argue power scaling because it was also stated that the 8th gate could grant you the power of a kage for a short time, and we all know the power of a simple kage was no where near the power Gai achieved. You can't say its a plothole because it was an unknown component of the Narutoverse until Kishi showed it against Madara. Whatever happened in that fight is all we can truly discern about it. Because of that fact, its not in stark contrast to any solid information given about it in the past. This is my belief on the issue.

The retcon was Kakashi getting it as a child, and that is not the definition of a plothole. A plothole is a fact that is in direct violation to rules or circumstances already established beforehand. Kakashi getting MS as a child and not realizing it is not a plothole because it can be explained by him passing out right after awakening it. On the contrary, Oro failing to summon Minato because the soul was in the demon belly is in complete contrast to the variation of IWR established by Kabuto because Oro should have certainly discovered the failure during his prep time. That is much more close to a plothole.

Sasori's puppet body is not his physiological body, which is what the jutsu returns to the shinobi. Sasori's real body 'died' the instant he turned himself into a puppet, so that is how he was brought back.
