does the gaint meteor needs rinnegan or not?

me and my friends are making a 2D naruto game and we had a disagreement on weather madara needs rinnegan to use the giant meteor or just EMS. (there was 3 people including me in that conversation) so the 2 of them said that he did only need EMS and not wood tech/rinnegan to use it. and that he didnt use it VS. hashirama because he thought he could win without committing suicide.

i did not agree with that as i kept telling them he needed rinnegan for it, and we didnt want to give him rinnegan in the game only EMS but there gonna add that jutsu as a EMS jutsu, because (in the game) he will not have rinnegan and -as they believe- he does not need it for the jutsu. so i gave up as it was 2 vs 1 and i didn't have a proof.

so can you -dear reader xd - tell me i'm i correct, or are they?

and its not our idea its my idea XD cuz i kinda had no proof and there not in the forums anyways so they dont know about this, but the next time we'll meet i'ma slam this page up there face.

and the main reason why (i think) they had the idea that it only needed EMS was because he used susanoo with his 2 faces to use it. so i think they had the wrong idea of what was happening.

but thanks everyone!! you really helped now. well its too bad that that jutsu aint gonna be in the game, or on a bright side we might give him rinnegan after all =/. or just ignore the jutsu and move on...now i feel bad for being right
