I've been on the deep web and most of the links are dead anyway. But it is indeed true that there is some weird and wrong shit on the deep web

I have only been to the deep web once out of curiosity, and I regret it. I won't dare to go to Marianas web.

Look up some YT videos.

Like I said before, there's a YT series where a guy explores the deep web. I just saw some videos, they are creepy.

Actually what you mean is the dark web. The deep web is everything you can't search for; lost domains, useless documents, some old government files.

Dumb question. Deep web takes away (arguably) 90% of the internet.

People tend to confuse it with Dark web. Dark web is a part of Deep web and is where all the illegal activities go with Deep web being simply a part of the internet wich cannot be accessed by just anyone.
^^these

Lot of misinformed plebs in this thread.
OP what you are referring is like dark web which can be accessed by using Tor. You can download Tor to access it.
has a list .onion urls which you can use in Tor browser, you can go around look for something interesting.
It is not as you make it to be those shit happen in the Internet too, one of the largest drug market running in it was busted by .

I went there to look around and didn't find anything interesting, unless CP, drugs or other illegal things is your thing, there really isn't much for you there. Though I did find a post on IE(deep web site) with list of URLs to may books- some were interesting, but mostly there isn't much for mentally healthy humans.
Edit: oh and here is the hidden wiki-

A hacker I talked with on some chat site I don't remember said that the original hiddenwiki was taken down and that these were just clone sites. But I wouldn't trust anyone although it seemed legit, anyway nothing lost at the end of day. Still don't go there.

Not saying I'd do it but it's cool knowing there is a place you can hire hitmen.

What are you talking about?

That's an equivalent of me saying "there is nothing to find on the internet because I don't know why I'm here". Deep web IS internet. Think of normal internet as a tip of the ice berg. The stuff that is below is Deep web. You can find anything there so long as you know where to look. (Just like normal internet)

The difference is you have to know how to get there as a good part of it is locked away.

Deep web isn't used solely for illegal activites. You can find a lot of cool stuff there (depending on your interests and knowledge). The fcked up stuff is called Dark web. These 2 terms shouldn't be used interchangably as they aren't the same.

Think that hitman part's a myth. Saw the offers, but I doubt it'd work.
The darknet's a great place to order psychedelic drugs, though.

The thing is most stuff there is there because it's not suitable for clearnet mostly due to legal reasons, while I know that Gmail inboxes are also deep web while silk road etc would be dark web and that it consists a smaller segment of it, I say nothing there because despite all those stories I have yet to see any proof of those things existing, even people on 4chan's /g/ say similar thing and a CS phd whose entire job is to track pedos etc said the same thing- nothing there for Good people. However I won't deny that somethings like deep web medical journal etc might interest anyone but that stuff is super rare to find and barely worth the effort.

Your post seem to imply that you actually spend time there, not asking why or whats but have you ever come across something there that you'd consider worth the effort of finding it? If you use it that is.

Not necesarilly. Many people host sites on Deep Web because they don't want just anyone on there. Not necesarilly due to legal reasons. More because of increased privacy or something along the lines.

Fun fact, 4chan could also be considered one of the sites that are on the border between regular web and Deep web as it has it's "content restricted" counterparts. ^^

I myself don't use Deep web and my knowledge of it is pretty basic. I have, however, listened to some of the lectures of my university proffesor (I'm IT), Jasmin Azemovic. He's really good at IT forenshics and has quite a rezime. He recently got a MVP badge personally in Seattle (Microsoft headquarters).

I do agree that a LOT of stuff on Deep web is Dark web-oriented. Not all but a lot. You could find quite a lot of interesting things depending on what your research is tough, like "deleted" websites, articles, documents etc.
