So he did not dump his own child for 12 years. Him doing that would be odd when he cared so much about his clan.

imo Sasuke left Sarada on purpose in the village to protect her and that's why Sakura lied about their family life (maybe she made an agreement with him about that too), i don't doubt Sasuke's love toward his own spawn =D
