Does Sakura get as much widespread attention as Naruto or Sasuke?

In terms of merchandise, advertisements, OVA’s, Media, etc.



I went to the mall and saw 8 Sakura figures for 75% off in the bargain bin while the rest of team 7, Lee, Hinata and Itachi were full retail price. Why is that?

As far as Naruto & Sasuke in reference to the Boruto franchise or spinoff goes no but that’s because she is no longer a main character like they have remained. Now as far as Hinata or Itachi goes yea she gets just as much attention just depends what your looking for. Same applies to the merchandise, it just depends what your looking for and its not that deep.

There’s nothing to explain, it just depends what your looking for or who/what your buying from. Doesn’t require too much elaboration, retail prices fluctuate based on many things.

Sakura herself is lackluster. And Itachi, Gaara and Lee are lackluster now? Hinata can be argued or even conceded. But she’s a side character like the others and their media coverage and mercy are still sold more and highly prevalent.

Compared to the sole female lead of the series.

Hinata has a famous vocalist as her VA
Lee is a favorite with his own spin off manga/anime

These are all your assumptions, unless you can provide me a spread sheet of the entirety of price/demand of Sakura related merchandise your not in a position to say if selling or not. You can’t make that kind of factual statement based off of what you saw & read, that’s it. I’m not dumb and see the underline negative connotation you hinting at so that’s all you’ll get from me..

I use to work retail, they probably had too many of Sakura’s toys and not enough of the others so they lowered the retail price to get rid of them so it wouldn’t hurt the stores bottom line.

People buying Hinata merch more than Sakura doesn't mean much to me because of where it comes from. Hinata is nothing more than a stereotypical shy love interest. It's akin to me caring that millions support some terrorist group for all the wrong reasons more than the group I align to. Out of all the characters named, I only like Lee because the reason for his popularity is respectable imo.

Are you implying shipments of the line double package Sakura? Leading her to be in the clearance bin? That makes sense given how toy lines usually do this in waves. That would only mean multiple people have purchased other characters to the point that they had extra Sakura figures.

Outside of figures from that store, she isn’t given any other merch aside from a novel where as characters such as Hinata were given leading roles in movies, ovas and figures grouped with Sasuke Naruto and herself.


It seems Sakura has long sense been a black sheep in terms of popularity worldwide.

When was she pushed during the original run? You’re the one bringing up Boruto. I’m talking before. Side characters are outselling Sakura and always have. Even gaining more push and merch. Despite her being female and the lead heroine.
