Does opening the inner 8 gates dispell genjutsu?

Random question, but I've always wondered.

Does opening several of the inner 8 gates dispel genjutsu? This is because it's shown that Gai's 6th gate was capable of dissolving chakra sharks, and his 7th gate of powerful enough to create powerful tidal waves in the ocean. I was thinking that this might have some sort of ability to dispel genjutsu.

I would guess so.
It is mentioned a few times that the genjutsu "Release!" is just a giant burst that disrupts the chakra flow.
Personally, I would assume it could.

But I think it would also be down to the caster of the of the genjutsu, and how powerful it was.
For example in Naruto Shippuden, when Itachi casts it on Naruto and a regular "Release" does not work, because itachi's genjutsu level is extremely high. So opening 1 or 2 gates may have no effect, but the chakra flow after opening some of the later gates definitely would have some sort of effect.

Once the user opens enough gates to counterbalance the power of the genjutsu, I'm sure it would be released.

the pain produced just by opening gate 5 or 6 is more than enough to break a genjutsu..

By opening inner gates, chakra flow increases dramatically and that causes dispersion of genjutsu...
