And then we have Killer Bee. Not a single panel of him is shown, He's off to the side dying.

That still wouldn't save him. Gyuki still got extracted. Substitution jutsu just changes your position. That tentacle was most likely meant for Naruto (see the pseudo juubi mode theory).

No, it's not extracted, only portion of Gyūki Chakra is, like before with Akatsuki. Plus, that is not a Substitution technique, it's a Clone technique.
