Does Naruto gaiden = upcoming Boruto movie?

Gaiden is before the movie.The next "part" of Gaiden.

Movie is a different story then gaiden, gaiden will probably lead us to the beginning of Boruto movie plot and end with a cliffhanger, marketing101.

The Gaiden is a way to introduce the characters and plot.. kind of a hype train to generate more interest for the new gen of Naruto. It showcases the events leading up to the movie and just makes it easier for them to develop enough story/plot in such a short amount of time for this new gen to last.
