Madara has seen much bloodshed due to Senju and Uchiha clashes much like other ninja throughout the series but Hashirama, having defeated him in another great Uchiha/Senju clash wanted to put an end to all the fighting, and opened up to Madara and wanted to discuss with him just what is it he wants? Just what is it Hashirama asks, that we need to do to work this out together?
Madara is offered an opportunity here to finally talk things through with Hashirama, and achieve peace. Madara may be feeling low for having lost the battle against Hasirama, but rather than gloat, or punishing Madara for the attack on the Hidden Leaf village, he offers his hand to Madara. Seen as most people in Madaras' situation here would be arrested as a war criminal, he should be counting his lucky stars.
Surely Madara is going to thank Hashirama for his understanding? Or explain himself and why he felt the need to attack the Leaf?
No, no, not Madara... he is one track minded..and his first request is about as shocking as it comes when seen here:
He seems to be motivated towards revenge, and he cares little for the upset and frustration this request of killing himself or killing his brother Tobirama, would cause Hashirama. His will is not geared towards peace here, at least.
Sasuke did the same thing (trampling on another's feelings) with Sakura, when she tearfully cried and begged him to stay. A lot of people will go on about how much they dislike Sakura, but this scene was one of cruelty and disrespect, as Sasuke storms off, leaving Sakura in floods of tears.
These reasons are the reasons I would like people to consider when they say that both Obito and Madara wanted peace through Eternal Tskuyomi. I don't believe this to be the case with Madara, I'm sure Madara has as of yet unrevealed motivations to cast the Eternal Tskuyomi..
I have a couple of theories but that's for another time.
I'd like to hear why anyone who has read the manga and knows the story think that Madara wants peace?
Thank you for reading.
