Does Lee use chakra?

I can't really remember him using any chakra boosted punches/wall walking/waterwalking skills, but I am probably just forgetting as I personally never paid him much mind when I read through the manga.

I know it is stated he can't use Genjutsu or Ninjutsu, but he can use Taijutsu. However, Taijutsu should be seperated between using chakra boosted punches ( Tsunade) and just straight Martial arts, which I what I remember lee doing.

I may be mistaken, which is why I am asking.

Yes and no. Taijutsu such as kicking and punching doesn't use chakra, however running on water, walls, etc. does use chakra. The gates also use chakra.

Alright thanks, my other thread about the series ending with no chakra is why I made this thread since people were stating Lee would be a god among men (which even without gates his martial arts skills would still let him be) after IT. Thanks for the image.

Though Rock Lee is a ninja unable to use ninjutsu externally, he is able to mould and use chakra, as shown when using his tree and water walking skills. He can also instead use his chakra internally to augment his taijutsu.

Yes to some degree he can, but it is very less and Lee's taijutsu moves don't need chakra. Also stating that he uses chakra because he can open gates is also wrong, because every ninja has chakra flowing through them, he is just forcefully removing his limits and letting out the chakra, doesn't mean he is using i.e. 'molding' it.U_U

He uses chakra (or rather he 'releases' it) to open up the chakra gates, but he can't mold it, leaving him unable to manifest any ninjutsu or genjutsu techniques.

Lee trying to use ninjutsu or genjutsu is like a sculptor trying to make something out of rock-solid clay.
