Does kotoamatsukami require eye contact?

I'm sure it said in the episode where danzo was found out, or maybe during the remainder of the danzo arc, that the technique worked by changing the chakra around you over an area to influence others? Or sonething similar to that...

I think it works kind of like Ino's Mind Transfer jutsu, but also the sharingan was probably seeing through the bandages .
Sasuke's sharingan could see Deidara's chakra underground , so im pretty sure Danzo's Shisui's Sharingan could see chakra through white bandages. " Shisui had the power to get into his opponents mind and control them"-Ao.

Danzo was probably looking through the bandages at Mifune's eyes. Anyone who knows about the Kotoamatsukami sharingan genjutsu and who is a sensor, or people who can see chakra, could probably anticipate if its about to be used and try to avoid it.
