Does kishi really *draws* the manga himself?

I am having an discussion with a friend

He sais kishi doesnt draw the manga itself by hand

He says he just draws a random straight line and bends and eddit it on a computer
Without even drawing a face or something


But i did some research and they say

That he draws the basic of the manga itself on paper

Than he scans it on a computer and fill in the shades and lines




Who is right?

You're more right than your friend. I don't think that's the EXACT process, but he definitely does draw faces and everything.

Additionally, he does have assistants who help him out with drawing, but he does the bulk of the work himself (this was mentioned in an interview somewhere).

I'm pretty sure he uses a draw pad; nowadays, the majority of graphic artists who are actually drawing (not photo manipulating) are using it.

compared to paper drawing and scaning, you have better results.

He did say in the interview how long drawing a page takes and that it requires a lot of guts or something. So yes he draws most of it himself.

I'm not sure which volume but every volume (paperback) have Kishimoto's special notes about his life experiences and his thougts.
One of them says " he is no longer using old school drawing technics. He's using digital drawing or something like that."

I should check my library to confirm which volume that is..

You can easily compare old and new chapters and absolutely realise differences

That's not really surprising. It takes me at least 2-4 hours to finish one piece of drawing.
