Does Kishi choose the voice actors of his characters, like do the voice actors audition infront of him and he picks what voice suits his characters?

Because i just read that Toriyama(creator of DBZ) chose Goku's voice actor when she auditioned infront of him.

Im just wondering if Kishi does the same. Or all Mangakas

The audition process is very long and arduous it's not the sort of thing a mangaka has time for.

In Bakuman, none of the mangaka who got a series were involved, except for the main characters. Even then, they were asked before auditions started if they had a preference or an opinion but it was just out of courtesy. Their feedback might influence the decision, like in that example where Toriyama chose Goku's actor. They don't have final say, it could've been that they just couldn't decide and left it to Toriyama, or they agreed with Toriyama's choice.

Since Kishimoto is one of the producers for the Boruto movie, he probably does get to have more influence than he ever did before. Producers get to meddle in everything. He has more time so he might've also been able to have a bigger part in casting.

Sometimes writers end up with a producer credit, so he still might simply have the same kind of role that he did for The Last.
