Does Kirin Need Prep?

The fact that people believe that lightning only occurs with thunderstorm clouds' shows the kind of degenerates that lurk here. Kirin doesn't use any chakra. None at all. Sasuke explains it clearly that his body acts like a rod to attract the surge of charge in the atmosphere around him.

Now, with storm clouds, you have a large surge of charge in the area. Outside such weather conditions the chances of producing lightning at such a magnitude are slim. So, it is obvious that he has to use Chakra to pull whatever he can attract towards himself. I believe the amount he can pull to himself would be directly propotional to the amount he can draw towards himself. Why? Because he doesn't have the luxury of the flow the thunderstorm will provide.

So yes, Kirin doesn't need prep. But without the storm clouds, it would need chakra.

At Oro/s hideout he fired a katon at the sky when Sai was speaking about bonds, before moving to drop kirin. If thats all he needed then it probably takes something but not much
