Does it really take a week to draw a manga chapter?

I've always wondered how long these things take, I feel like it'd only take a couple of days at most. If so then are these breaks necessary?

Or I could be completely wrong.. keep the salty responses at a minimum if you can

less than hour, drawing manga is easy, the hard part is what you're going to draw,

inspiration is the real struugle of being an author, that and writer block

it's not that easy to draw manga chapters . kishi must 1. draw movements , 2. create a story , 3. create the scenario .

It would probably take a good artist a couple hours just too copy one of Kishis characters well. Kishi has too make different angles of a character(s) and detail in the background in each and every single panel, he cannot just copy a image by looking at another one. Furthermore, he has too think of what they would say that would benefit the plot, which by no means is easy if your trying to make a good story (Which is probably the reason why he failed at last chapter, he went too quick). Making good chapters every single week is a very tough thing too do, especially when you have to satisfy both the people that read it for the plot as well as the people who pay more attention to the actual fights (artwork). People should cut mangakas some slack, especially Kishi, who has been getting way too much hate recently.

Try drawing something of...10 pages with decent plotline and visiuals with background in a week.

I am telling you, most people can not.

Now imagine it with it years worth of plot, characterization, advanced art and story with 18 pages a week. It takes a lot of work. I mean a lot.

Do anyone read WSJ interviews with Kishi? He said out his own mouth it takes him roughly 3-4 days to make a chapter.

If it takes around 90 minutes to draw the basic sketch of the page with a pencil, and around another 45 minutes to and hour to ink it, that is 2 hours out of his day for one page. I'd say he does at least 2-3 pages a day.
