***SPOILERS****
- born out of a corpse hanging from a tree
- was saved by a woman, who later died from the plague
- the mercenary leader who took care of (kid) Guts let him fight in battles, but took most of the money he earned
- said mercenary leader also sold him to a fellow mercenary to be raped
- (kid) Guts then killed the rapist
- mercenary leader gets crippled, treats Guts worse
- then attacks Guts, Guts kills him defending himself, is chased from the mercenary camp and shot with an arrow.
- After being shot with the arrow, he's attacked by wolves
- wandered from mercenary camp to mercenary camp as a kid
- gets beat up by Griffith, is forced to join the Band of the Hawk as a result
- becomes actual friends with everyone in the Band of the Hawk, looks up to Griffith. Becomes the second in command, is generally happy.
- Falls in love with Caska, has *** with her
- Decides that he wants to leave the band of the Hawk and do his own thing
- because of this, Griffith flips out and gets captured and tortured for treason, most of the Band of the Hawks are hunted down and killed
- Guts comes back and rescues Griffith
- Griffith is so crazy from his loss that he sacrifices the entire band of the hawk to demons so that he can become a super powerful demon lord thing
- Guts watches all of his friends systematically killed horribly by demons
- Guts watches his love Caska get demon raped by Griffith, loses an arm and an eye in the process
- Guts and Caska are rescued, but are now "branded" so that demons constantly hunt them to kill/eat them, and they feel horrible pain, that intensifies according to how powerful the demon is. he ends up fighting demons constantly. Also, Caska is now mentally scarred and is terrified of Guts
- Caska starts to not be so scared of him, and then he gets semi-possessed and tries to rape her, so now she's terrified of him again
- Caska is pregnant with his kid...
- ...only her demon rape by Griffith corrupted it and it comes out as this malformed...thing
- Guts is still fighting and getting horribly owned by demons constantly
I mean, it's pretty much hard to tough this. NO SPOILERS PAST THE FLASHBACK ARC PLEASE
