Does Gai even need to open the eighth gate in this battle?

From what we've seen, the Hokages, Naruto and Sasuke are holding their ground quite well. Do you guys think that it is still necessary for Gai to use the eighth gate? Or will hit do it when Obito transforms again?

Probably whenever he gets involved in the fight which i don't see happening any time soon. :S I'm a big Guy fan i'd like to see him out there with Naruto again.
