I did like watching it for Natsu but overall FT sucks in comparison to OP and any other good manga for that matter ...

How can it be better when the original was never a original?
Your opinion sucks when it comes to rating manga. Better art = better story. Which makes Fairy Tail have this glory.

Yes indeed its not original. Pirates have been done to death before. I take Popeye the Sailorman more seriously than Luffy D. Monkey.

So much for being original.
It does get better, but you should not expect heavy and violent, well it does have a naked torture scene far away, but not like gory violent stuff happens. Also there are some good twists too and the music is awesome, so keep watching it without any serious mindset.

OP story is good but not its art. Thats the only problem for me.
OT, But this was about FT. It story is linear. Not too much pick up happen. But I like their Nakama power.
