if they contradict each other you cant blame people for quoting them. thats a failure on kishi's part, since hes ultimately responsible for both the manga and the databook

I agree with you but it makes debates and general discussion difficult. If the manga and databook don't agree.

Did the Databook lie? Was Orochimaru not sealed in the Totsuka Blade? Is he not still there?

If he escaped it would be a contradiction, but he didn't, Orochimaru had basically cloned himself prior to getting sealed away.
