Does blood contact necessary for summoning?

From manga, we already knew that for summoning one must have to make blood contact with the summoning object. Hence, the summoning object must be living being.........The question is how did edo Madara summon meteors from the sky (I assume he didn't summon meteors, it could be Madara's jutsu).

Another question is, in earlier chapter, edo Madara tried to summon kyubii. When did Madara make blood contact with the kyubii??

I reckon these things need to be clarified.

The meteors are not summons they are creations. For example, yamato does not use blood to create trees. The blood is a payment for the summon. You can summon any animal from a contract so long as you have the blood of the person who made to contract in the first place

In addition, I imagine it was a force contract with Kurama. We have seen in the past that sharingans can control the beasts with in there minds when Sauske when into Narutos mind and grabs Kurama by the nose. Also, there may be many ways to gain contracts. I say this because tenten has a contract with weapons and I don't see how it is possible to make a contract with something inanimate

That's true for meteors.

But what about failed Kyubbi summoning? We don't get any hint whatsoever that Madara made blood contact with kyubbi.

also Guy nor kisame drew blood to summon
so u dont NEED blood

well about summoning kyuubi.... ....

as kushina said.. at the battle between madara and shodaime .... the wife of the shodaime sealed kyuubi within herself.... that means madara was using kyuubi from the very starting .. s maybe he had lod contract with kyuubi or was controlling kyuubi with the sharingan

Shika's shadow technique most probably not summon. It's his jutsu.

You don't need blood to call forth summoning object. But at the very first, you've to make blood contact with that object.
