I was introduced to Naruto by a friend many years ago (introduced to manga and anime in general).
None of my male friends followed the series.
Some female classmates followed the series.
A female friend of mine today follows both the manga and anime of Naruto and some other series as well.
She is the only one =D.
As far as family goes, my younger brother doesnt follow Naruto.
He did like DBZ, so I thought he would like Naruto too.
He hasnt really tryed to really read and watch the Naruto series though imo.
I cant get him to do so
.
No other family members of mine read or watch anime
(at least I dont know if they do).
Some cousins have watched DBZ when it was on tv though.
When I joined this forum it was, to my surprise, all of a sudden full with males haha.
Rarely saw female members. Kinda the opposit of what I saw in real life (or maybe lot of males just secretly watch it in real life too, but they dont tell anyone haha
). In real life I was used that mostly females followed manga and anime.
Maybe discussing about it on forums is more a male thing?
I dont find manga and anime more for one gender than the other tbh (depends a bit on which series of course).
It is enjoyable to talk about the series on a forum like this.
There arent that many occasions in real life to do so, because if you would say ''hey that is just like as in Naruto or hey ddid you read the lastest Naruto chapter'' they would be like ''úuuh what is a Naruto''
.
XD
I do have some ways to talk with people about Naruto even if they dont watch the Naruto series.
Some of Kishi's views on life are shown through the Naruto series. It is almost something like a bible actually xD.
I say to someone (who doesnt follow the series) that I follow a series called Naruto and that I came across something interesting. For example I tell about some parts of the manga about peace or Itachi's views on reality and it brings a discussion with that person about views on peace for example or moves to something spiritual.
This way, you can still discuss things about the Naruto series with someone, who doesnt follow it.
Although you cant lay down questions about who defeats who (doesnt have my interest anyway) and you
cant really talk about predictions for the upcomming chapters and such
.
Maybe someone will even gain interest in the series this way.
Still, I am glad there are forums like these.
