At this point, all evidence points towards it.

However, due to how obvious it is (almost Tobi is Obito obvious), I don't want it to happen. Thus, I will stay stubborn and say he is not, just so I have the chance of being one of the few who didn't side with this.

Does anyone have any holes in that theory?

No holes in the theory. Except everyone interprets the Sage to have Black or White hair.

Well there does exist at the very least three that would help.

1. Kushina stated that the Senju and Uzumaki were distant blood relatives. Now, if the Sage was in fact an Uzumaki... why would they simply state that as opposed to the Senju being descendant of the Uzumaki. Blood relatives implies a notion of being cousins, and thus both branching off from the Elder Son.

2. The Uzumaki are a shinobi clan (albeit a priestly one). The Sage existed before Shinobi... and created them. It is logical that families would exist before the Sage so this is not the greatest counter; however, the idea of them being a clan in a time closer to utter chaos is a thought to be considered.

3. When the Juubi looked at Naruto, he saw a pair of angry Rinnegan eyes facing it down above him. This seems to indicate that the Juubi fought the Sage while he had the Rinnegan. Popular belief seems to be that the Sage only obtained these eyes after he defeated his Natural Foe. So why would the Juubi envision those eyes baring their fangs against him if they were not on the Sage beforehand. Once again this does not say for sure Uzumaki =/= Sage; however, it gives the notion that the Sage did have a miracle birth of the Rinnegan which would theoretically indicate that it truly was just a no name child being born with the right parents/genes/mutation. Biology and Shizzle Master Rizzle.

There is no major hole but there are arguments against it. Like uzumaki's don't awaken rinnegan. Since obito's right eye even after becoming a jinchuriki of the juubi did not transform into a rinnegan it means that the juubi isn't what gave the sage the rinnegan. Therefore the rinnegan was the sages bloodline limit. So if the sage was an uzumaki how come no other pure blooded uzumaki without modified genetics acquire it? This is one argument you could use other than that I got nothing else.

They say he was an uzumaki who became the juubis jin and got the rinnegan, but You don't get the rinnegan from becoming the juubis Jin
Madara and obito plan on becoming its Jin to use its power to boost their eyes to the ultimate level and reflect those eyes off the moon-juubis eye;akatsuki is Japanese for red moon

They already have rinnegan
It takes naruto an uzumaki all of kuramas yang just to resemble the sage

well a theory will always remain a THEORY (until proven from the manga) and i don't mean to take away the effort people put into making these.

nothing specific (didn't think about it much) but it was stated that the sage is the ORIGIN of all shinobi, so they never existed before the sage showed up/his rinnegan.
unless the theory is talking about the uzumaki being a non-shinobi clan then maybe. but again it's all a waste of time trying to prove useless stuff/twisting the words/statements that will never be proven/explained in the series.

a WASTE OF TIME. U_U

The Jūbi sealed inside Obito is incomplete, Rikūdo sealed the Full Jūbi inside him, and even then he needed to train and achieve enlightenment to awaken the Eye of Samsara which is the regulated power of Jūbi's Yin-Yang
