Does anyone else feel like Sarada's quest is kind of pointless?

Consider this: Even if after this whole quest, it turns out that Karin is Sarada's mother, so what? What happens next? Sarada has lived with Sakura her whole life and will probably just go right back to Sakura after this quest. Sasuke will probably still have missions. Nothing about Sarada's life would really change. She'd still live in the same place, go to the academy, become a ninja and live as she always has regardless of who her biological mother is.

What, do you think that if Karin turns out to be her mother that she'll just suddenly go out and live with Karin from now on? Will she start learning the ways of the Uzumaki clan or something? I highly doubt it.

In a nutshell, I'm just saying that most likely nothing will really change after Sarada gets her answers. The only possible thing I could see happening is Sarada potentially turning against the village if the truth of her origins is bad enough (similar to how Sasuke wanted to crush Konoha after finding the truth about Itachi). Other than that, I don't really see how things would change a lot?

What do you think?

That is y Sakura is her mother. There would be no point in it being Karin. It would just be needless drama. Also, I am pretty sure after this either Sasuke decides to take some time off to spend time with his family or he starts going home more often.

Problems must have a satisfying resolution :coffee:

And even if Sasuke is unwilling to depart from his mission you have the big softy Naruto who will probably sympothize with Sarada and figure something out.

Pointless in the greater scheme of things yes. But it's only natural for Sarada to want answers.

I just don't understand why she couldn't sit down with her mother and have a serious conversation about whether Sakura is her biological mom or not. And maybe ask about who the girl in the picture is.

What do you think?

Some people just want to know who their real parents are, it's called being curious... They aren't looking for change, just want to know the answers to their questions... How would you feel if you grew up not knowing who your real parents are, whose blood runs through your veins? Idk about you but I'd feel pretty shitty if I didn't know

And if Sakura lies or pulls that "oh... Idk... I guess not.." crap again? Better find out the truth at the core root of things, than to just believe whatever bs some ditz feeds you

It's called the MacGuffin effect, when a character chases after something that isn't necessary or even important to the overall plot, basically it's a plot devices so we can have s troubled character find the truth. Also keep in mind this isn't just about finding her mom but this is also about meeting her dad, kishi is trying to convey empathy from viewers (or sympathy) to Sarada by trying to put it in your shoes, if the average person never met their dad and in this case their POSSIBLE mom, the average human would set out to find them because of the connection and blood relations, it's hard for people to understand where Sarada is coming from because they either are not capable of grasping her desire or they just dismiss it as a MacGuffin effect, I think it'll still be nice for her to meet up with her father.

There's a bigger picture to her quest, Konoha could've sent assassins behind Naruto's back to go kill Sasuke but they didn't because of plot.

Pointless? No.
She's trying to figure if Sakura is her real mom or not which is perfectly fine it's only natural to seek the truth, not only that but she needs to find her daddy.

You are right even if she finds the justification she seeks, her life will most likely remain the same as Sakura as her mother just maybe not the biological mother

Will Sasuke try to be a stable father in her life? chances of that are highly unlikely seeing as he is to busy himself to contact Sarada during the years he was away.

Probably because whenever she tries they just glue their mouth shut and frown or try to redirect with, "What does that have to do with anything?" It's happened twice in two chapters.

who the **** could kill sasuke except naruto? no one thats who

In part 1 and part 2 just about any S-Rank shinobi could kill him but no one bothered, Gaara even protected him in Kage Summit when Raikage could've finished him off and Oonoki as well

Of course it is pointless...

BUT...

Kishimoto wants luring shippingers back. That's why after he read the "She must be Karin's cause she has glasses" theories he decided to put it into the manga FOR DRAMA!

Because what people are care the most are DRAMAS and SHIPPINGS.

I think Saradas quest is just a set up to involve the children in the plot line of this onion Uchiha kid

Why do you think Kishi knocked Sakura unconscious? To take the easy route away from Sarada so we can have a plot, and Sakura was avoiding the question any way.
