Does anyone else agree with me that Shikadai's words weren't harsh at all?

In today's episode, they were making out to seem like Shikadai's words were so harsh, but what he said was very true. Metal Lee won't be able to make it as a ninja if he chokes every time he is put under pressure. Shikadai didn't even say it rudely. It's not like he said something like, "Just drop out while you can", or anything like that. It was just normal and justifiable constructive criticism. What do you guys think?

It's a little harsh because he didn't factor in how talented Metal was, and how he works harder than them all.

It wasn't crazy, but just inconsiderate. However, he matured I think.

Shikadai's dialogue was really strange this episode. He basically told us everything there is to Metal Lee's character by the opening 5 minutes. Not even subtly, just described what'd usually be left to the audience out loud. He doesn't even seem like a character to me so when he said that it just seemed like the plot talking.

If that bad habit continues, it's the only thing that'll make me drop it. Focusing on character is essential if you're doing smaller scale stuff.
