Pretty much as the title says. Madara was the the one to get the farthest and he stormed on some huge revolution and never got to finish it, he told Obito and it made him give up on life. Every line under EMS seems to denote the clan's dark history and jutsu.

One of my main reasons for wanting Sasuke to awaken rinnengan, I REALLY WANNA KNOW WHAT THE LAST LINES SAY!

but only two people have ever achieved rinnegan. and we dont even know what its capable of, we'll only know that after madara is defeated. by the looks of it obito and nagato were both fodder. also even you count nagato and obito, its still nowhere near mainstream.
