I do, He worked so hard to get where he's at now. He had to go through so much pain and suffering all he wants to do is make the world a better place and fix the mistakes Hagoromo made in humanity. Sure he did a lot of bad things but imo Danzo has done worse things and he's considered a "good guy". How he made Obito his pawn just shows how smart and clever he is.

He wants to bring peace but it seems like he likes war but that's what he wants to stop because that's what shinobi have done since before ninjutsu. Hagoromo tried to stop this by bringing nishuu to unite people but it didn't work. Madara is trying to fix this and end wars, bring true peace. I'm sure Madara didn't want to kill all those fodder during the war but they kept attacking him and trying to stop his plan. The guy is going to defend himself.
