Honestly, I dont care either way. I think its dumb that Naruto just shows up and automatically stops something that was supposed to be a guaranteed death, but I won't be mad if he comes out alive. Gai has always been one of the characters I've liked.

Honestly with all the crazy stuff that's been happening I forgot about Gai entirely. Imo it would have been better or more dramatic for him to have died after using the eight gates but now he has to live the rest of his life knowing he can never be a shinobi again while also looking like living charcoal. I get why some people wanted Gai to live but the life he has ahead is more painful than death.
