The physics is kind of stupid. Magma has a set temperature wheras fire does not. The sun is a lot hotter than a campire. So Fire can possibly be hotter than Magma.

But Akainu killed ace because Fire needs Oxygen to burn, if Akainu punches a hole in ace it would be impossible to turn his body into fire due to the lack of oxygen in that area.

When whitebeard attacked him I'm almost positive akainu felt every single bit of that hit. But he is a logia his body can regenerate if given the allotted time to do so.

Haki just allows a user to physically harm a logia, but there's nothing that can stop a logia from just simply regenerating when the fight is over.
