1) Naruto's intent. The obvious similarity between S06P and Naruto is their will to protect people and insure peace, not just for his village, but for other villages. The Sage wanted the entire world to be at peace, shinobi, and people.

Naruto's personality allows him to change others' views and bring them away from the "darkness" as seen with Gaara in part 1 and kurama and nagato in part 2. We'll most likely see the same with obito.

2) The way Naruto looks in KCM and BM. If you look closely, when naruto is in his tailed beast mode , he looks very similar to the sage of six paths' silhouette. There is a magatama around both the sage's neck and naruto's. Both naruto and the sage have two spikes in their hair resembling horns at the same spot. Naruto also wears what looks like the same style cloak. They look almost exactly alike.

3) All the tailed beasts acknowledge Naruto and believe Naruto is the one who the S06P predicted would come and lead the tailed beasts to the right path.

4) The trust people have in Naruto: Naruto was entrusted to find world peace by Jiraiya, Minato, Konan and Nagato. This is part of the Naruto story. It plays too large a role in the story for it to be discarded. I can see Naruto becoming the "modern" sage and restoring peace to the war-torn world, just like he was entrusted with.

5) Naruto's mastered rasengan, sage mode , upgraded rasengan to rasen shuriken. All feats that his predecessors couldn't finish. Jiraiya couldn't fully master sage mode (he still looked a bit like a frog). Minato couldn't figure out how to upgrade rasengan

This^^^^ I agree with this to an extent as for Teuchi is also a likely candidate to be the new SO6P but other than that I agree.

Naruto know like 4 jutsu the sage knew 1000s and was able to beat the Juubi by himself. No means am I degrading Naruto but without Kurama isn't even top 20. If he knew seling jutsus and other elements then yes I would agree but atm Konohamaru has just as many tech as Naruto. The sage was the sage (strong as hell)before he was the Juubi jinjuuriki. Naruto had to become the jin of Kurama to give a look a like appearance.

Kabuto called himself the close to So6P becasue all the things he knew and looking at Madara with rinnegan, knowledge and possible juubi jin all seem above Naruto in a race for becoming the next sage.

The Juubi's actually transforming to the Complete Juubi.

The Juubi just needed portions of all the Bijuu's chakra, it can regenerate it from then.

So in theory, the chakra Naruto got from the Bijuu's would mean that Naruto could make his own Juubi.

Jiraiya could stay in SM almost forever thanks to constantly absorbing Nature energy, he also had powerful genjutsu thanks to the toads.

Naruto will be able to do the same thanks to fusing with the toads, it shouldn't be a problem with Kurama not interfering.
