After Naruto and Hinata destroyed that Tenseigan device and scattered those thousands of byakugans, Toneri has been left there on the moon with nothing better to do.
Do you think he became stronger while he was alone?
Reasons...
His own original byakugans as well as Hamura's byakugans were in that Tenseigan device so he could've found either of those two in the span of 13 years.
He can predict the future and knows about the Jougan and upcoming threats... I doubt he is going to just chill and do nothing, therefore he is preparing.
If he is training then Toneri has untapped potential. He had a ton of moves before using the tenseigan and when he just finally had the dojutsu he was spamming new shit with only less then 30 mins of usage.
The dude don't train for combat but he can get the gist of something in less then a few mins.
Even without his eyes he can be training or upped his abilities.
It is really kind of unfair how much abilities his clan has compared to the other Kaguya clans
I wonder if those sage marks on his chest is also genetic.
That is how long the gap was between the Last and the current events in Boruto. Since then Toneri has been on the moon by himself without anyone else.
