1. Academia still can't come close to Haikyuu success in manga & anime success. They're worlds apart, especially in anime sales.
2. Black Clover's sales are pretty low even when it's getting pushed by Jump hard.
3. Promised Neverland just started

Academia sells over 500k a volume I think... or at least very close to 500k.

I don't think any of the Big Three sold that many in their first 100 chapters. BnHA is only 114 chapters young, and it was made when Bleach and Naruto were still kickin, so their sales had major competition.

I'd put in a good word for Food Porn Wars, but the subgenre of this Shounin anime may be too radical for the commonfolk.

One Piece & Naruto were selling millions prior to their anime. Not sure about Bleach

yeah totally forgot Haikyuu is there too along with Food Wars

so if we strictly talk about weekly Shueisha shonen minus OP yeah its in top 3

That was during the first month of its anime (May), by now it's over 500k per volume. Atm it has 11 volumes with total sales of 7 million so yea it's above 500k per volume.

Academia surpassed Food wars for sure without the help of an ex-hentai artist.

The Big 3 only really emerged as a Western concept because they were the 3 series that were big when anime was being properly introduced and integrated across the sea. They had Cartoon Network / VHS coverage for that generation of kids growing up then.
