they would have been wiped out danzo pretty much said this "join the village or be destroyed"plain and simple even itachi wasn't about to test danzo.

It seemed to me that the Uchiha were a really large clan.

Even if they weren't, of course they could with proper planning and the element of surprise. Wait for a time when most of the higher ranked ninja are off on missions, assassinate the hokage, use their position as the police force to declare martial law in response to Orochimaru killing the hokage (or whatever other cover story they wanted to use). Kill Danzo. Take apart the other clans one at a time, kill the ninja that were away on missions as they return. Their biggest obstacle would probably have been ANBU.

Well they still had people like kakashi, might guy, minato, 3rd Hokage and jiraiya (I'd say kushina but she was probably pregnant)
so no I don't think they had a chance against the leaf.
Although, there we're a lot of uchihas, probably the most populated clan and they are skilled

if itachi, shisui helped them they would have stood up against a village. it would have been a tough battle but hard to really say because we have no idea on the levels of strength of the other uchihas. but we do kno there is a reason the massacre occured it was due to the immense threat the uchiha posed against the village

Aburame clan alone will be tough

adding hyuga and other clans is too much

The Fourth and Kushina are dead at this point so we couldn't count on them
