The eye of the sage is the Rinnegan you idiot. To get the Rinnegan you only need the sages chakra, not body.

Scarab: His logic about the situation is nearly flawless..however you're incorrect. Sasuke only received Yin, and Naruto yang. Naruto foolishly shared his kyuubi cloak, and Sasuke Uchiha having Jugo's curse mark passively makes him absorb chakra...which was why both Jugo and Sasuke's cloak disappeared when Obito smashed them to the ground.
Its possible to even argue why he was able to genjutsu the tailed beast, but that's an entirely different story. However I'm 99.9% accurate with everything so it'd be impossible to argue.

I agree that Hagoromo didn't give Sasuke the eye and only gave him half of his chakra. However, I don't believe that that is the reason that Sasuke awakened his rinnegan.

It has been explained that Hagoromo's chakra in an Uchiha with EMS produces the rinn'egan, but I think Sasuke had the chakra necessary to awaken the rinn'egan without Hagoromo giving him anything.

I think that RSM and The Rinnegan are ultimately equivalent to one another and that they are ultimately different ways of producing Hagoromo's chakra, and one or the other + being a incarnation of Indra and Ashura is necessary to meet Hagoromo and gain his gifts, both can be obtained without meeting him.

So In my mind it goes like this.

For Madara. EMS/Indra chakra + Ashura Chakra + death = Hagoromo's Chakra = Rinnegan: judged unworthy so no meeting or gift.

For Sasuke. EMS/Indra chakra + Ashura Chakra + death = Hagoromo's chakra = Rinnegan: judged worthy so meeting and gift/moon mark.

How would Sasuke have the ability to awaken his Rinnegan without Hagoromo giving him half of his chakra? The only other way he could do it would be the same way Madara did it. He would have to take a piece of Naruto's flesh and implant it into himself, then mix the chakra of Ashura and Indra.

The Rinnegan and Rikudou Sage Mode don't produce Hagoromo's chakra. Rather, Hagoromo's chakra produces the Rinnegan and Rikudou Sage Mode.

I'm not trying to say that the Rinnegan or RSM produce Hagormo chakra. Instead I'm saying that Hagoromo's chakra can be produced independent of him giving it to you, and that Naruto and Sasuke both met that requirement on their own before Hagoromo gave them his chakra. But that isn't true though. Having chakra from all 9 Tailed Beasts wouldn't give Naruto Rikudou Sage Mode or Hagoromo's chakra. And Sasuke didn't mix Indra and Ashura's chakra because he doesn't have Ashura's chakra.

Indra and Ashura have already transmigrated from Madara and Hashirama to Sasuke and Naruto. Thus, Madara and Hashirama no longer have their chakra in their bodies. Even fully revived Rinne Tensei Madara doesn't have Indra anymore.

The only other way to get Hagoromo's chakra other than him giving it to you is combining Ashura and Indra's chakra.

you get the rinnegan by having hogoromo's chakra. sasuke received the sages chakra when he got the yin seal, thus awakening the rennigan. the only problem i see with this is, that naruto gained sages chakra as well, by all accounts he should awake the rinnegan by that same logic. since it was said that black zetsu tried to get both ashura's and indra's transmigrants to unlock it. which means you don't need sharingan in order to get in. so which means, he specifically gave sasuke the rinnegan. because even after madara combined indra and ashura's chakra it took many years until he unlocked it. so that leads me to believe that he specifically gave him that power, not just the chakra to potentially unlock the power. otherwise both would have ended up getting rennigan.

Not necessarily. Hagoromo said to Naruto he feared Indra or one of his reincarnations would awaken the Rinnegan, so he left behind the stone to warn them. He didn't say anything about Ashura or one of his reincarnations awakening it. It may be possible for one of Ashura's reincarnations to awaken the Rinnegan if they transplanted a Sharingan, but naturally I don't think they can get it.

Madara's method of awakening the Rinnegan involved mixing the two chakras. Considering how long it took before he got his Rinnegan he may have not known how to combine them or that he needed to combine them. Whereas Sasuke was given Hagoromo's chakra directly, he didn't need to worry about mixing them.

There is also the whole "Sasuke got the Sage's eyes, Naruto got the Sage's body" thing.

The rinnegan was a gift from the sage. Either way it seemed like he had met the requirement for awakening it from kabuto after he was stabbed, but i dont think that was why he awakened it. madara was near death when he finally awakened his, and he awakened it in both eyes. Its strange that he only got it in one eye, if he had awakened it naturally i would think that he would get it in both eyes like Madara did.

Thats just what i make of it though.
