I think it would have been completly different because Obito would have probably been able to awaken the mangekyou sharingan. When itachi and madara killed the whole clan i think obito could have at least done something. I bet could have taken out Itachi

Theres really no evidence that Obito was any good at... anything. I'm going to have to disagree with this.. especially the part about taking out Itachi. Also, what makes you think obito would kill Rin or Kakashi to get mangekyou? ..ohh wait... i think ive been trolled.... damn

Well his death only has an important impact in the the kakashi Gaiden. I doubt it would have any major effect on the storyline. His importance in the war wouldnt matter either, except his usage of the Sharingan..

Of course it would be different. Kakashi wouldn't have his Sharingan, so his whole character would have to change, and he's an important character, you can't just take away Kakashi's sharingan like that.

Well, the only way for this to happen would be with IWR so the thread maker might have made this in relation to that.Through that he would have been able to live on without it. More or Less

"If Obito would not have died.." to me implies that he means "If Obito didn't get crushed by that boulder, leading to his death..". If he was referring to resurrection, I'm sure he would've said something along the lines of "If Obito was brought back from the dead".

this event with obito was what basically shaped kakashi's personality he would have been a completely different guy ex. he would show up early instead of late as he usually does, he would be completly obssesed with the rules etc.

Just like to clarify. This was a response to the first post and not to the threead question. I of course agree with everyone about Kakashi being a completely different person.

i reckon kakashi started to change the moment he helped obito go after rin,.. so personally i dont think that if obito lived a little longer there would be any difference in the kakashi we know today. but there is no doubt that obito would have died in the itachi madara raid. so in the end nothing much would really change except kakashi not ever getting the sharingan. haha so it was a good thing that he died from the boulders!! if your kakashi

Slightly but not really, he could/more than likely would have just been another casuality of Itachi and "madara", and Danzo(the douche who gave the orders).

Well, the only way, it will have been different is that Kakashi will not have become a major character and will have been less cool...
Obito will never have aweken the MS though as he'll never kill Kakashi or Rin! Even if his Sharingan will have become a bit more powerful, he'll still have died since even a great Sharingan User as Shisui died.
