Nah, besides, it might just be that Obito wanted to make Sasuke even more hot headed, and increase his lust for avenge. We saw the rush Sasuke got from gaining vengeance over Danzo. That was Obitos goal.

True, but it could explain Obito's reasoning for getting the uchiha under suspicion

Not really....I mean what happened between the two was simple: Danzo got his right hand full of Sharingans, and Obito got a lab full of Sharingans....


Also it was mostly Danzo gaining power and simultaneously eliminating a threat to Konoha's people. It was he who blackmailed Itachi.....just got a little help from Obito
